Darcy's journal page challenge..

This is the first time that I have actually had the time to finish one of Darcy's challenge pages. I really loved the page this month (not that I didn't like the others!) I loved the colours and the way it seemed to flow and that was my inspiration..all those different techniques on two pages, loved the way they all came together.
I managed to follow all but a couple of the techniques..Embossing and painting on metal card, creating sprays from frescos, making a stencil from a handprint, adding punch outs, doodling outlines, cutting a recess in the pages, and using metal working tools..phew a lot of techniques! I used a slighly different colour pallette to Darcy, you can read the step by step right here

Love that bees wax..

I have spent a nice hour or so in my shed this morning making wax ATC's. Now I have never done ATC's  before but was inspired so much by Frances 10th birthday project I wanted to have a go...you can see hers here. I have worked with the wax in a similar way in a class with Lin Brown and really enjoyed it so I thought I can do this lol..I followed along with Frances' instructions so won't bore you with the details except I didn't have any of the encaustic medium so had to skip that bit. I stamped in Stazon using the butterfly from hot pick 1109 and mini 62....and here is the end result!!

Inspiration from Darcy....

On day three of Darcy's GD week over at paper artsy she was making all kinds of pretty things for a garden party!! Well surprise surprise I didn't have much time to make one of the larger projects but the lovely little stones she painted caught my eye...you can pop over and see all the projects here..and there are a lot of them!!! All beautiful and very clever.

So with not much time to play with I painted three stones in a mixture of bora bora and mermaid frescos.  I added the word ART  using grunge board letters and stuck them on with glossy accents. I then gave it all another coat of paint. I used hey pesto to shadow around the letters and to give it a bit of contrast.

Next I stamped the small script from clocks 1 lightly over the letters with olive archival dried that off and gave all the stones a wash of snowflake dabbing most of it off with a baby wipe..

Lastly two coats of Gloss Glaze and they are finished. I will put them outside my shed somewhere I think...

Not a fantastic picture, the colours are much brighter.
