Love

I have spent a nice couple of hours in my shed finishing off a birthday card and thought while I'm here I 'll have a go at one of the Paper Artsy projects. Kate Yetter was back this week with some smashing work..you should pop over and have a looksie here. I really love her style..think I've told you that before lol. So I thought I would have a go at her Tag board. I followed along with what Kate did so won't repeat the process. I didn't have the stamp she used so used one of my paper artsy A5 plates. I really love this stamp but it the first time I have used it..so here goes..

I used more or less the same colour palette as Kate as I love blue and brown together...

Fabric Hanging

Hi all hope you are enjoying this beautiful weather we are having. I have been out in the garden almost all day! I wanted to do the paper artsy challenge this week and was stumped as to what to do...On day one Penny Nuttall did a beautiful fabric hanging which you can see here..so I thought fabric,stencils,paint..hmmm

So this is what I came up with..It was very hot in my shed today so I have to admit I didn't spend loads of time on my piece. I used a Lin brown stencil on some calico (Ithink it's calico)..I used two of the green fresco paints and when that was dry I went over it lightly with chalk to knock it back a bit.

I had made a stencil with my TH dress form die and used this to stencil on some grunge paste which I painted when it dried, added some lace for he skirt and some black pearls. I then used LB04 and fresoc paint to stamp some flowers onto the background. I stamped, coloured and cut out some butterflies and stuck them on. Lastly I used my cropodile and eyelets and threaded ribbon through the top to hang. I didn't have a suitable word or words so may add them later....

Fathers Day..

Morning all..what another lovely sunny day we have here...hope you all have the same. Well I have finished my fathers day card for dear old dad lol..and actually remembered to take a piccie before I send it off.

I ran some brown card through the Tim Holtz texture fade patchwork. I used some gesso on my finger just randomly all over it and then swiped it with my black archival. I used more brown card and the mini texture fades for umberella man and the cogs..then cut them out..and did the same with the gesso. I then layered up scraps of different papers and laid them on the card. Cut 'dad' from the word play die in black and stuck it all on.Lastly I added a slight shadow around most of the pieces to give it some depth.. This was then mounted onto a lighter brown card to tie in with the paper scraps...

I am going to enter this into the Simon Says Fathers day/masculine challenge..
Also the Frilly and Funky challenge here

Live..Love..Laugh

On Friday we saw Gillan Simson return to the PA blog!! yay!! She did a beautiful brightly painted piece that just made you smile...pop over and see it here..

Loved it so here is my version....more or less the same and so enjoyable to make!!

I cut two hearts from some mount board and stenciled some grunge paste randomly onto them. I used blood orange/tango and yellow submarine to paint the large heart. The small one I sprayed with my IZINK inks we got in Paris..I had some spamped serviettes I had been playing with in my journal so used some pieces of this to stick to both on the hearts...script for the larger one and a flourish for the smaller one. I don't have the Ellen argo stamps so used different sized bottle tops for my circles.
I edged both hearts using a black promarker and stuck the smaller heart on top of the other. I stamped out Live Love Laugh onto some card I had coloured to match the hearts, cut them out and stuck them on. I also stamped a beautiful butterfly I got from my lovely friend Lesley and cut that out..used a black gelly roll pen for highlight and some wire for the antena..stuck that on and finished!!

Lovely to see you Gillian!!

Triptych inspired by Linda Cain

On wednesday it was Linda Cain's turn to pay us another visit...and she didn't disappoint!! she did a beautiful tritych so colourful..so had to have a go!! you can pop over and see Linds's here.

I followed the same technique as Linda with all the bright colour frescos but used stamps from Lynn Perella 013 and 027 instead as mine was quite a lot smaller..

I used a triple arch frame from Tando and cut a back from grey board. cut some white card to paint and stamp my images onto. I made the fleur de lis embellishemt from black wow embossing powder using my modge podge mold. the little pearls along the bottom are just what was left of the embossing powder dripped onto my craft mat. I brushed them with florentine treasure gold to tie them in with the colours on the frame...

An Altered Tag

Hello all and happy sunday!! I have the weekend off this week and seeing as it's only Andy and I at home this weekend,,(and he was sleeping due to night work) I had the whole of Saturday to play with nobody to bother me all day!! I had time to complete three pieces for the Paper Artsy challenge this week...
First up we had a new GD called Kate Yetter...I must say I love her style! Her third piece was an altered Journal page which gave me the inspiration for my tag..you can pop over and see Kate's here.

I started off with a prima tag..these are already printed with a background so a nice base.
I followed along with what Kate did adding strips of paper onto my tag and scraped on the guacamole and toffee fresco followed by gesso...(I had a panic moment as I thought I had run out of guacamole paint but phew found a new bottle in my spares lol). I used sepia ink for my drips and some beeswax which I don't think shows very well in the picture.
I used a picture cut from some Tim Holtz papers and stamped various bits and bobs and cut them out I distressed the edges and used coffee archival and peeled paint distress ink to edge it.
