Inspired by Hazel

On the final day of the Paper Artsy finale this semester another friend from twitter appeared!! Hazel. She is one of our newer #patwits and has settled into our little family of like minded friends very nicely. Her project was gorgoeus!! She transformed her phone table accesories using one of the new hotpicks!! I just loved the little ink bottle and knew straight way some bottles I had in my shed that would do quite nicely..I had bought these bottles many moons ago at an Artsycrafts event...but like loads of other stuff hadn't got around to using them! So here goes

It started off looking like this.....just a plain glass jar

I painted it a mix of little black dress and french roast. I used a couple of stencils with my grunge paste and when that was dry gave it another coat of paint. I had some little embellishments I had made from hot glue using a couple of my molds, these were stuck to the cork top and painted. When that was all dry..as Hazel did out came the treasure gold..I used onyxite, indigo, sapphire and green amber...just adding them until I was happy..and voila!!

The stencil is slightly off centre and I know that's going to drive me nuts!! so may have to start again!
Here's a close up of the top....

Thank you for the inspiration Hazel...fantastic idea!!

Thanks for stopping by.......

  8. I love it, Lin! Like Sam, I thought it was a lantern at first! Also I can't see that it's off centre; but I'm hopeless at getting things central myself! Lol! xxx
