How Does Your Garden Grow

Well Sunday has been and almost gone all too quickly and I am back to work tomorrow! I did grab some time in my shed this afternoon so thought I would have a go at the Country View Crafts challenge seeing as it is one of my favorite online shops!!

I knew I wouldn't have a lot of time so decided to go with a tag.
I cut a tag from an old box as I wanted to peel away one of the layers to reveal the corrugated bit in the middle.

I then used a couple of the crafters workshop stencils and some grunge paste to add some texture with the bird cage and the grass. I painted it all with snowflake and dried it.

Next a mixture of Sky and guacamole for the sky and grass, blending it in the middle. I stamped a mini Kaisercraft stamp at the side and cut some memory box flowers. these were painted using frescos in hey pesto, butternut and autumn fire. I cut a picket fence from a really cute die I got at Ally Pally and distressed it a little bit. Stuck it to the tag using foam squares. I painted the bird in autumn fire and used pewter  green amber and spanish topaz treasure gold very lightly on the birdcage. Stamped a small amount of text from mini 61. Put broken china distress ink around the edge of the tag and a Little pewter treasure gold.
I stamped secrets of the garden from Lin Browns ELB01 and stuck it on the bottom. Coloured some seam binding using a mixture of distress stains and ink, tied a knot and placed it on the top of the tag.

thanks for stopping by.....

  7. This is really lovely Lin! Love the depth you've created by having the picket fence raised in the foreground with the flowers behind and then the birdcage at the back as if hung on a branch 'down the garden'. Very pretty summery colours too! Very special!
