Inspiration from Darcy....

On day three of Darcy's GD week over at paper artsy she was making all kinds of pretty things for a garden party!! Well surprise surprise I didn't have much time to make one of the larger projects but the lovely little stones she painted caught my eye...you can pop over and see all the projects here..and there are a lot of them!!! All beautiful and very clever.

So with not much time to play with I painted three stones in a mixture of bora bora and mermaid frescos.  I added the word ART  using grunge board letters and stuck them on with glossy accents. I then gave it all another coat of paint. I used hey pesto to shadow around the letters and to give it a bit of contrast.

Next I stamped the small script from clocks 1 lightly over the letters with olive archival dried that off and gave all the stones a wash of snowflake dabbing most of it off with a baby wipe..

Lastly two coats of Gloss Glaze and they are finished. I will put them outside my shed somewhere I think...

Not a fantastic picture, the colours are much brighter.

Thanks for stopping by....

  1. Bet they look great IRL - and will look good outside your shed.

  2. Fun idea to include the letters on your stones.

  3. Ooh! I bet these look great irl! I love the way you did the letters. I really love the shapes and that colour combo is fabulous! Julie Ann x

  4. Wow wow amazing gorgeous stones. The colours are fantastic, and I love the shadow of the hey pesto what a brilliant idea. Kezzy :-) xxx

  5. These look brilliant Lin and I think they're a lot of fun too. Love the colours. Well done getting them finished in time for the challenge.
